New challenge at Passion for Promarkers

A new challenge is underway at PFP and it's yet another easy one, we are so kind to you! We would like to see your projects using your '3 favourite colours', so pop over to the blog for some inspiration and to see what fabby prizes are up for grabs.

I usually opt for green and pink, however, I fancied a change and as luck would have it, I had been asked to make a card for the greenkeeper at my mum's bowls club, so I chose some more masculine colours and have gone for beige, blue and brown. I was asked to include bowling, drinking and lawn care on the card, pheww! But then I realised that I only had to pop in to Digistamp Boutique as they had all three subjects in the shape of 'Alf' and 'Jim'

So cute!

We have another fantastic (and easy!) theme at Passion for Promarkers this fortnight, we would like to see projects featuring 'Cute Animals' - told you it was easy!  My only problem was searching through my boxes of cute images  and narrowing it all down to 1!  but narrow it down I did, and managed to kill two birds with one stone as I made a Christmas card to add to my (pathetically small) pile!

Don’t Be Square!

It’s a busy Sunday for me today, with 2 new challenges starting today and then I have 3 card requests including one that needs to cover several themes – bell ringing, real ale, The Rocky Horror Picture Show and/or Priscilla Queen of the Desert, anti-aircraft gun forts/platforms and lots of pink!!! Yes, well I’ll let you know how that goes, lol.

My first DT card today is for the challenge at Joanna Sheen where we would like to see your shaped cards – NO SQUARES ALLOWED! This is one of my least favourite themes, let’s face it, square is easy, but the idea is to challenge you! I was sent the beautiful Shirley Barber CD and project book. As with the last CD sent from Joanna Sheen, I couldn’t make up my mind which image to use and printed several off before settling on this rather striking one of kingfishers, not my usual style, but very, very pretty. My shape is a rocker card – I love the movement you get with them.

I was sent the fab Tom Mielko Project Book & CD Rom for this challenge and I had a real job to choose from all the wonderful toppers and decoupage. In the end I had to do ‘eeny meeny miney mo’ lol! I kept it fairly CAS so as not to detract from the image, unfortunately my printer had a funny five and there is a faint line on the image, but after printing it out 3 times, I decided that enough was enough if wanted any ink left!

Let’s Rock!

I was sent the cutest decoupage ever featuring the oh so sweet House Mice who are having a rock concert down on the beach! Black & White

Today sees the start of another challenge at Joanna Sheen and this time the theme is ‘Black & White’. There is a £15 Joanna Sheen Shop voucher up for grabs to the winner, so get crafting!

This is my second challenge as part of the fantastic Joanna Sheen DT and it put me somewhat outside of my comfort zone. I love cute images and using my Promarkers to colour them in, so using just black and white was quite hard, lol. I started off thinking about doing a  CAS card, but it ended up very frilly and feminine and maybe a bit too busy, but it’s definitely black & white!

More New Beginnings

 Firstly, I’d like to say a big welcome to my new followers, thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!

Ok, this is the first of 3 posts today, yes, I did say 3, lol! I’m so thrilled to be on several DTs, but this week they all fall on a Sunday! Today is the start of a new challenge over at Joanna Sheen and it’s my first challenge at a DT member, so I was very nervous about this card, but I think it turned out ok. I don’t usually use much mirror card (I should do, as I’ve got buckets of the stuff!!), but I think the silver goes quite well with the pastel colours. And I would just like to say thank goodness for Promarker Fine Nibs!!! I love this stamp, but without the fine nibs all the paper clips would have been one colour, lol! 

Anyway, enough waffling and on to the challenge which is ‘New Beginnings’. There is a £15 Joanna Sheen Shop voucher up for grabs for one lucky winner.

'In the Garden' - card for Joanna Sheen DT Call

Firstly I'd like to say welcome to my new followers, thank you for joining me and sorry everyone, but this post goes on a bit! 

Today's card is a special one as it is my entry for the DT call at the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog. I found out a couple of weeks ago that I had been chosen as one of the 12 finalists for the DT call where there are 3 places up for grabs. It was a lovely surprise followed by a lot of angst over what to make, until we were all emailed some decoupage from the cd 'From the Heart of the Garden' by Jane Shasky to see what we could come up with, so that made it a bit easier! I usually go for cute images, so this was a change from my norm and I have to admit I might well get the cd as the images and papers are lovely.

All 12 finalists' cards have been posted on the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog and any comments left there will be taken into consideration when Paula and her team are selecting the lucky new DT members. I really would not want the job of deciding who to choose, all the creations are beautiful and a lot of work & care has gone into them!

I must admit that it made a nice change to do some decoupage even though it wasn't die cut, so I had to dust off my decoupage scissors! This is the first time at trying a box card and I was pretty pleased with the result although my photos don't show it off very well as it looks a bit flat! I have been assigned the job of making a retirement card for a lady at work who loves gardening, so this was perfect for her and just in case you were wondering, we are going to give her more than the packet of seeds, lol!
