Henry’s Cake

It’s Tuesday morning which means that there is a new challenge starting at Passion For Promarkers and this week the theme is a nice easy one from Pinky - Add Sparkle’. This week we are being sponsored by Whiff Of Joy and they are offering one of their lovely stamps as the prize.

WoJ

I have used a Whiff Of Joy stamp for my card which I recently won and I’ve been waiting for a chance to ink him up, I thought his cupcake was just begging for some glitter! I think I might have gone a bit ‘sycadelic’ with this one, but at least it’s bright and cheery (unlike the weather!) I was pretty pleased with the photo this time, so I’ve posted a sideways view as well!

I’ve also posted a close-up, as there is glitter on the pink paper which you can just about make out.

I’ve Got The Blues

I can’t believe that it’s nearly February and that  I have been a GD for Come & Get It for a month already where today sees the start of a new challenge – this week it’s Tic Tac Toe and this is Julie’s grid.

CAGI Bingo-001

I love these sorts of challenges because there is lots to choose from, which is lucky as I nearly had to start again, as when I went to upload my card to the DT blog I realised that it was ‘Paper Piercing’, not ‘Paper Piecing’ – hence the reason for his paper pieced wellies and umbrella!  So instead I have chosen glitter/free/ribbon/ for my card (phew, lol!)
I have got a bit of a thing about not leaving a lot of white around my images at the moment, but have not quite got subtle inking down to a fine art yet! So this time, I coloured the background with a ‘Powder Blue’ Promarker and then I used the blender pen to make dots which are supposed to look like rain, but my son said look more like snow and they don’t show up in the photo anyway!

Pretty In Pink

I had to make a quick birthday card today and so I used a pre-coloured topper.  It’s really pretty, but I always feel a bit of a cheat when I don’t do my own colouring. Having said that these toppers are a godsend when you are in a hurry!

Less Is More

Well, we had peace between my boys after all on Monday when my younger son's school closed for the day as well, thank goodness for that, I don't think I could have stood the sulking, lol! Today's card is one I made for J & C Creations a little while ago and it is very CAS. As I have collected more crafty goodies and got more confident in my card making, I have fallen into the trap of putting more & more embellishments on my cards, but as much as I love to do that, I thought this pretty stamp deserved to be the focal point with no distractions! I'm pretty pleased with the photo, now if I could just remember the settings I had the camera on  for next time I'd be laughing!

Boys Will Be Boys!

Good morning! I hope that the snow hasn't caused problems for too many of you. Tucked away in the South East, we have only had a sprinkling which didn't cause any problems and would have been perfect on Christmas Day! However, if the forecasters have got it right (and my two boys are crossing their fingers that they have!) we may be in for it later, we have already had a couple of centimetres this morning.

Today is the start of another challenge at Come & Get It and this week we have a sketch to follow.
We are being sponsored by Fred She Said

and they have a $10 voucher for the winner. Check out their store to see fab images like the one I have used for my card, isn't he just the cutest! Don't forget to visit the other DT girls to see their take on the sketch.

Followers of my blog know that male cards are not my favourite to make as I struggle with embellishments for them, but in this case that is a plus, as too many embellishments would detract from Meighan's sweet sketch! I decided that there was too much white around the image and used distress ink around the edges, but I definitely need to practice a bit more with the darker colours as I've been a bit heavy handed!

Windy Day

Today is the start of a new challenge at Passion For Promarkers and the theme is ‘Whatever The Weather’ chosen by myself! This will be the first time that I have chosen the theme and I will have to pick my favourites, I only hope it’s a reasonably popular challenge! We are being sponsored by DigiStamp Boutique who are offering a fantastic 6 digi images to the winner!

Click on the picture to go and have a peek in the online shop and please pop over to the other DT members’ blogs to see what they have made this week.

I won a sheet of digi images recently and when I saw this sweetie, I knew she would be perfect for a ‘Windy Day’ card.

Something Old, Something New

Ok, last post for today! The New Year sees a new challenge over at J & C Creations Challenge  and the theme is 'Something Old, Something New'. There is a £20 J & C Creations Shop voucher for the winner and you have all month to get your entries in. I was getting serious withdrawal symptoms as it’s ages since I used a Penny Black stamp, so I have remedied that! As usual the colours have not come out too well on my photo, in real life the colours are warmer and to me, prettier, but there’s only so long you can spend faffing around with camera setting and editing programmes, lol!

Day Dreaming

So, onto post number 2! Today is the start of another challenge at Come & Get It and the theme is a nice easy one - ‘Tie A Ribbon Around It’, who doesn’t like ribbon on their cards?
I have used one of my favourite stamps and have popped her onto a SB Lacy Oval and then I have threaded ribbon through the loops. I’m actually really pleased with this card as I managed to get my colouring to match pretty well with the papers!

More New Beginnings

Firstly, I’d like to say a big welcome to my new followers, thank you for taking the time to visit my blog!

Ok, this is the first of 3 posts today, yes, I did say 3, lol! I’m so thrilled to be on several DTs, but this week they all fall on a Sunday!
Today is the start of a new challenge over at Joanna Sheen and it’s my first challenge at a DT member, so I was very nervous about this card, but I think it turned out ok. I don’t usually use much mirror card (I should do, as I’ve got buckets of the stuff!!), but I think the silver goes quite well with the pastel colours. And I would just like to say thank goodness for Promarker Fine Nibs!!! I love this stamp, but without the fine nibs all the paper clips would have been one colour, lol!

Anyway, enough waffling and on to the challenge which is ‘New Beginnings’. There is a £15
Joanna Sheen Shop voucher up for grabs for one lucky winner.

GDT card for Come & Get It

I am super excited about my card today as it is my first card as a Guest Designer at Come & Get It. I have been invited to join the lovely DT for 3 months which worried me at first as I will need to make a card every week whereas the other DTs I’m on it’s once or twice a month. However, my New Year’s Resolution this year is to be more organised, so bring it on!! (hope that sounded more confident than I feel! lol).
We are being sponsored this week by Bugaboo Stamps
7 free digis
who are offering 7 digis to the winner and I must say I would have a job choosing just 7 images from their shop as it’s filled with fantastic digi stamps!
This week it is a colour challenge and these colours go together so well – Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight & Tempting Turquoise, yummy!
Cindy's Color Swatch-001
I chose to use ‘Clyde’ from Bugaboo, he seemed to me to be a perfect image for the colours!

New Beginnings

Happy New Year!
I hope everyone had a good Christmas, mine wasn't so great as I had the flu and spent a few days in bed, I was a bit better by Christmas Day, but can honestly say that it's only been over the last 2 or 3 days that I've felt 'normal' again. So I would like to apologise for not getting around to all the Blogs I would normally visit, I have a lot of catching up to do, starting with today's card that should have been posted yesterday!
This week at Passion For Promarkers the theme is ‘New Beginnings’ and we are being sponsored by

who are offering a great prize of a New Collectors Promarkers set!

I have used the ‘Treasured Baby’ stamp from Crafter’s Companion as she is so cute. I couldn’t quite get all my pinks to match and my mojo had gone awol while I was ill!
