I've got to make this a quick post as I have been drafted in to work today, bang goes my lazy day spent crafting and sunbathing! (not at the same time lol!). This time it's my nephew who is 16, and I have used another Mo Manning image which is so apt for a teenager. I have followed the sketch at Dutch Dare and have also entered at Passion for Promarkers who have loads of prizes up for grabs in celebration of their 3rd anniversary. There are also 3rd anniversary celebrations going on at Allsorts who are having a hop. I was a bit happier with the photo today, at least the colours have come out true to the card this time! And I had a go at something new for me - stitching. Unfortunately I do not own a sewing machine and even if I did I can't sew to save my life, so the stitching was done using a piercing tool and a pencil, think it's a bit big, but it came out ok.

All That Glitters
There is a new challenge blog on the block at J & C Creations and for their first monthly challenge they are asking us to use glitter. Now, before I discovered promarkers I never stamped and coloured, however there are very few cards I make now that don't feature a stamped image. So I thought it would be nice to have a change. This card features a layered glittered medallion in my favourite colour - pink! This technique was taught in the the first and only card-making class I ever took and after buying all the stuff (as you do!) it was good to get it all out and get messy! As usual, I wasn't impressed with my photo, the pink is quite salmony, but my actual card is more fuchsia pink, but you get the idea!

Daisy
May and June are heavy on the Birthdays for my family, so today's card is for one of them, my husband's niece, another big 13! I decided to make another cross-over card, I love the way the tag is hidden away in these cards and I adore this image 'Daisy' from Sugar Nellie. I chose lilac and soft green for the colours, although the green has come out a bit strong on the photo. One of these days I might actually take a photo that I'm pleased with!

In The Pink
I'm determined to make up for my lack of posts recently, so here is another card, made for my neighbour's little girl who is 4 today. I saw this LOTV stamp some time ago and have been hankering after it ever since, but have been trying to reign in my spending! So I was pleased to sell a few of my cards recently and didn't feel so guilty over a trip to the LOTV shop, where of course I didn't stop at just this stamp, haha! At Lili's Little Fairies this week we have been asked to make a card using our favourite craft tool. Like may of you I have lots of favourites, but I really don't know how I managed before I got my treasured Cuttlebug, not a card goes by where I don't use it.

Sweet Sixteen
Talking about time flying, my second card today was made for my eldest son's 16th Birthday, surely it was only yesterday that we brought him home from the hospital, lol! As the boys have got older, it has become increasingly difficult to make them relevant cards, so I thought I'd have a problem with this one as my son is not into music, sports or anything else nice and easy to make into a card! He does love, however, sitting on his bed with his x-box on, his phone bleeping every 5 minutes, typing on facebook, so it was with delight that I discovered this Mo Manning stamp and the fact that I could download it as a digi stamp made it even better as I was running out of time! I do think I made the image a bit big so there's not a lot of room for much else on the card, on the other hand I find embellishments for boys a problem (can't add lots of butterflies and flowers or glitter!) , so it's probably for the best!

Fairy Rocker Card
Oh dear, wherever does the time go? This is a really busy time of year for us and then our computer decided to go on strike, so although I've managed to make a few cards, I haven't been able to add them to my blog. So, to amke up, here is the first of today's cards. I had several challenges in mind, at CES we have been asked to make a card that is not square. Now I really have trouble with this sort of thing, I love my square scalloped cards and am not good at thinking outside the box, but was fairly pleased with my finished rocker card. I do not have any pre-made rocker cards or templates, so this was made from scratch.
