Winged Things

I can't believe it's Monday again, it comes around so quickly! I was a busy crafter this weekend and managed another card. When I saw the challenge at Cute Card Thursday this week was 'Winged Things' I was very temped to use a fairy image, however this little fella has never seen an ink pad, so I thought i'd use him instead.

Chillin'

I needed a crafting fix this afternoon after watching my 12 year old's football team get thrashed once more this morning, I think they hold the record for being beaten by more than 10 goals in every game this season! So i got busy and made two cards, the first one was inspired by the theme of 'black and white' at Passion for promarkers.

Afternoon Tea

I absolutely love ALL the stamps from LOTV, unfortunately I do not own nearly enough of them! and so I have 'cheated' a little with this card as the image was already stamped and part of a freebie in a magazine. The stamp is called 'Hello Cupcake' and is perfect for this week's challenge at Lili's Little Fairies which is 'Afternoon Tea'. I love my promarkers, but thought I'd try something a bit different and have used my watercolours to colour in the image. I was quite pleased with it, but definately need more practice with my water brush, I couldn't seem to keep the water flowing?! Any tips gratefully received!

Paper - another freebie!

Flower Power

I'm on a bit of a roll now that I've got my mojo back and I had a sort out of my stamps yesterday. This stamp from Penny Black is one of my favourites and I thought it would work well with the theme of Flower Power at Cute Card Thursday this week.

Dark pink card - Papermania
Pink paper embossed with a Cuttlebug Embossing folder
PB image coloured with promarkers
Scalloped squares, lacy ovals, scalloped and standard circle - Spellbinders
Roses - Wild Orchid
Everything else is from stash (I'm really bad for throwing away packaging and then forgetting where I bought things!)

Anything Goes

I never thought for a moment when I posted back in August last year that it would be February before I posted again. Life really does get in the way sometimes! I won't bore you all with the whys and wherefores of the last few months, suffice to say that I'm glad to be back and am looking forward to getting back into crafting and blogging on a regular basis. I thought I'd ease my way back into things to start with and so I have entered some challenges with a card I made recently for my Nan who was 92!

Farmyard Fun

So far the holidays have not gone to plan, (although the weather has been so much better). I spent 8 hours at the hospital with my mother-in-law who was then admitted and is still there, and then promptly fell down the stairs the next day and twisted my knee, almost flattening her 15 yr old dog as I went (I'd like to see me trying to explain that one!) I thought that would give me a guilt free conscience to do nothing but make cards for a couple of days, however I couldn't sit at my desk as I couldn't bend my knee! Actually, I still can't, but I really can't face another trip to accident and emergency! And so my next card will only just get entered by the skin of my teeth into the challenge at Passion for Promarkers where the theme is 'Animal Crackers' and with just a little bit more time at I Love Promarkers where this week 'Anything Goes'. I have had these stamps for a while and not really used them, but thought they would do the job nicely. I have paper pieced the saddles and flowers.

One for the Boys.

I always struggle with male cards, especially for teenagers and so when I saw this stamp I ordered it immediately as I thought it would be perfect for all the male teenager birthdays I have coming up. I have entered it at Crafter's Companion Monthly Challenge where the theme this month is 'One for the Boys'.

Shopaholic

My second card today is one I made for a friend of mine who likes to 'shop until she drops', so I hope she finds the funny side, I thought it fit the bill for this week's challenge at CES where the theme is 'humour/funny'.

Both images are a freebie from a magazine, coloured with Promarkers
Papers are from 'Sweet Wishes' paper stack free with Papercraft essentials

Dressing Up

Thank goodness the school holidays are here! The only downside to moving to the country is that we are no longer on a bus route into town, so I have been having to ferry my eldest to his work experience placement. My youngest has had me going all over the place for parties and outings as he is leaving primary school, my mother in law has gone into hospital, so I'm back and forth up there and then there's work and housework to fit in. It's a good job I work for my husband and I can juggle things about a bit! Anyway, with the school holidays here, I don't have to go into work so often, which means more time for crafting and I have been busy as I have some lost time to make up for! I have entered today's first card in several challenges. At Passion for Promarkers, we have a lovely sketch to follow by Michele, at LOTV the theme is 'Fun & Games', at Stamp Something we have to use embellishments and at Your Next Stamp the theme is a recipe - 3 types of embellishments, 2 papers and 1 image. My apologies for the photo, I was in a rush, as usual!

Feeling Summery

As I have been away from my crafting desk for a while, I thought I would treat myself to a couple of small purchases, one of which is a digi stamp from Cuddly Buddly and I have used it on today's card for their challenge at Cuddly Buddly Digi Challenges where the theme this week is 'Bright Colours and Butterflies'. I have followed the sketch from ICS and have also entered at Pollycraft Monday Challenge where the theme is 'Summer Fun' and I think my card is summery even if the weather isn't! I was stressing as I couldn't find the right coloured card to match the green I have used and then realised that I could colour some plain card with the same promarker and use that!
